It has been an incredible first year for Mooche Wala, the Bangladeshi and Indian grill, pub and cocktail bar located on Main Street, Denton. Since opening its doors in February 2024, the venue has quickly become a local favourite — a place where great food, friendly faces and good vibes come together under one roof.The owners, brothers Bilal and Muhammad Hussain, describe themselves as “overwhelmed” by the love and support they’ve received from the Northamptonshire community during their first year in business.
A Fresh Take on Bangladeshi Dining
Mooche Wala is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Guests can enjoy a relaxed dining area serving classic and modern Bangladeshi and Indian dishes, indulge in tapas-style plates, or simply drop in for a drink at the stylish cocktail bar. The venue combines the comfort of a local pub with the culinary flair of a modern grillhouse, offering something for everyone.
Since day one, the Hussain brothers’ mission has been simple: to create a space where people can eat, drink, and unwind in a welcoming atmosphere. “We wanted Mooche Wala to feel like home for everyone who walks through the door,” said Muhammad.
A Family Legacy Reimagined
The brothers grew up in the restaurant industry, inspired by their father who has worked as a chef since 1985. Drawing on that experience, Bilal and Muhammad embarked on their own venture — beginning the refurbishment of the Denton venue in November 2023 and transforming it into the vibrant, modern space it is today.
Their hands-on approach and attention to detail have set the tone for Mooche Wala’s success. Every element, from the menu design to the décor, was chosen to reflect their vision of blending authentic Bangladeshi flavours with a contemporary British dining experience.
Gratitude and Growth
Reflecting on their first year, Muhammad shared how rewarding it’s been to see the community embrace their concept:
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support. From our regulars to new visitors who’ve discovered us along the way, it’s been an amazing journey so far. The feedback, the friendships, and the buzz around the restaurant mean a lot to us.”
Word-of-mouth has played a major role in Mooche Wala’s growth, attracting guests from Denton and surrounding villages. Whether it’s for a meal, a cocktail, or simply good company, Mooche Wala has quickly become a go-to spot for locals.

Following an exciting first year, Bilal and Muhammad are already planning what’s next. With growing demand and a loyal following, the brothers are exploring ways to expand their offering while maintaining the intimate, community-driven feel that defines Mooche Wala.
